Annual Labor Day Retreat

The theme of our Labor Day Weekend Retreat this year is The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna. It is especially appropriate, since this is the centenary year of the publication of the first volume of the Bengali Sri Ramakrishna Kathamrita, M’s record of Sri Ramakrishna’s utterances, later translated as the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna. We are extremely fortunate to have Swami Prabhanandaji, Secretary of the Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture and Senior Trustee of the Order, conduct our retreat, since he is generally regarded as one of the finest scholars and historical researchers in the Ramakrishna Order. He has numerous books to his credit, both in Bengali and English, and also spent many years of dedicated labor in the construction of the beautiful new museum at Belur Math. In the course of his research, he has had the opportunity to go through M’s unpublished diary, and so will have much new information to share with all of us about the writing of The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna. We hope you will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.
