Vedanta Center New Temple

After many years of using rented halls for our large celebrations, and managing our cooking and serving of food to our devotees in our small kitchen and dining room, we are now eagerly looking forward to construction of our new temple, just behind the present building of the Center. The main worship hall will have seating for over two hundred, and a spacious basement will contain a large kitchen and open hall for all of our special occasions. The basement will also provide scope for us to hold various types of cultural programs, social service activities and classes.

The temple has been designed to reflect some of the beautiful elements of the main temple at Belur Math, and, at the same time, to blend in with the present architecture of the Center. The new temple will also allow us to use the present shrine room as a full-sized book store, library and reading room. We are hoping to be able to have our groundbreaking ceremony sometime during the year of 2007 and to begin construction early the following year. Please contact the Center if you would like to contribute in any way to our Temple project.
